Thank you to all the catechists and parents who helped out our 101 students at the First Communion Retreat last Saturday. We especially thank Fr. Shaun Foggo, Jason Cochran, Cassandra Studer, Beth Lewis, Bridgette Pfeufer, Gilene Lorenzo and Laura Ciavarella who took leadership roles in our 5 stations: Last Supper, Eucharist Bingo, Video discussion on the Mass, hymn practice and breadmaking.
And kudos to Maribel Conde, Maria Fernandez. Juan Carlos Mora and Ana Salazer who also helped with the breadmaking, as well as Marvin Diaz and Xenia Fernandez who handled the bread-baking. Thanks also to the parents who supervised the 5 groups of children who moved from station to station; blue group: Yolanda Estrada and Carlos Aviles; purple group: Maria De Jesus Arias, and Ligia Molina; orange group: Marylupe Romero; Green Group: Carmen Feliz amd Nolloy Rivera; Red Group: Daysi Lopez and Maria Alfaro; Also to Dionisio Rivera for lunch and Joan Morales for assistance at the Last Supper station. Three 7th graders made 2 of the stations easier: Andrew Banuelos, Hector Reyes and Leslie Urias.
Registration for Vacation Bible School at St. Jude begins this weekend. Scheduled for July 17– 21, it promises a faith and fun-filled weekday from 9 am until Noon. Participants must be 4 by the opening date and includes children up to 4th grade (in 2017-18). Young people from 5th grade through high school may serve as captains, guides and interns for community service hours. Cost is $30 per camper and $20 per helper. (Max $120 per family.) Scholarships are available. Please inquire in the faith formation office for registration forms and scholarships.
