The Catholic Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, formerly known as Last Rites or Extreme Unction, is a ritual of healing appropriate not only for physical but also for mental and spiritual sickness.
Please do not wait until the last minute to provide the Sacrament to your sick loved one, as a person should be conscious to receive the Sacrament. If you need a priest to give this Sacrament, please call the parish office, and make an appointment to receive this Sacrament at the rectory, or following a Mass in the church, or at your home. In the Archdiocese of Washington there is a priest assigned as a chaplain to each of the area hospitals.
If your loved one is hospitalized, request a priest from the hospital staff.
Please call the Parish Office for further information (301) 946-8200
