8th Grade Donut Sale
The Saint Jude School's 8th grade class will be selling Krispy Kreme donuts on Sunday December 8th in the breezeway.  Prices are: $1 per donut, $6 per half dozen, $12 per dozen. Donuts can be purchased with cash or credit card.  All profits will be used to offset the costs for the class graduation week trip to Hershey Park. Thanks very much for your support!

The Shrine of St. Jude Regional Catholic School 7th and 8th Graders deserve a bit of praise.  Every Friday morning (8am) during the school year before the school day begins, there are a group of dedicated students who volunteer at the St. Stephen's Food Pantry.  

The student volunteers arrive early, no small feat for sleep-in lovers, to setup the food carts for the weekly Saturday morning distribution to needy families.  Under the direction of Mike Goss, the St. Stephen's Food Pantry Director, the volunteers sign-in, and insert 12 empty boxes on each food cart.  The empty boxes serve as separators for selected food items where a later group of volunteers will place the items into a paper bag.  The kids actually devised the method to fit the 12 boxes neatly onto the carts.   Where time permits, the young volunteers will place four designated food items from the pantry shelves into each of the 12 boxes on every cart.  In a rush against time before school starts, they complete the task by 8:20am and head off to class.

St. Ann's Center for Children,
 Youth and Families Collection
As a school we participate in many community service projects and reach out to those in need. We are collecting and donating baby items to the St. Ann's Center for Children, Youth and Families in Hyattsville, MD. “St. Ann’s Center for Children, Youth and Families strengthens and supports families on their journey toward stability.  St. Ann’s Center provides a nurturing community where families heal from the past, overcome barriers, and take hold of their future.” We are hoping you will join us in this school wide community outreach project which has been a huge success in past years. Parishioners may place donated items in the box in the breezeway. Donations will be accepted until October 21st. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.

The SJRCS Free Little Library for children is open! Please take a book and return it when you have finished reading it. The library is located just outside the main entrance to the school.

ATTENTION ALL PARISHIONERS:  IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The  Breezeway  doors  leading  from  the  back  parking  lot  to the  church  will  be  locked  from  7:45  am  to  3:30  pm,  Monday  through  Friday. Parishioners will not have access to the Breezeway in order to get to the church for daily Mass.During the school week, the Breezeway and the Thaddeus Room bathrooms will be for school children only.Please park in the front lot of the church or in the lower lot by  the  rectory  until  further notice.Please  keep  the  teachers  and  the  school  children  in your prayers.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
