“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Mt. 25:40
The St. Jude Youth Group is sponsoring a Lenten project to help DC Catholic Charities the weekend of March 6 and 7, 2021.
To our Parishoners,
Thank you for your tremendous support on our Lenten Project! The women of The Harriet Tubman Women’s Shelter are very grateful for the donations brought to them. We ask that you keep them in your prayers and hope they find the renewal and glory of our Lord during this season.
Many Blessings,
The St. Jude Youth Group
Catholic Charities operates 5 low-barrier shelters in D.C. Low-barrier means that there is no perquisite to come to our one of our shelters to get a bed for the night. The shelters range in size from 25 beds to 240 beds. During hypothermia season Catholic Charities works with Washington DC to open additional shelters across the city to protect our clients from the harsher weather. Once at the shelters, residents have access to a bed, hot meal, a place to shower and use the restroom, and access to a case manager. Our case managers assist our residents with a wide array of services including providing referrals, employment programs, and access to medical care.
